The Government of Tamil Nadu have authorised Anna University for conducting the Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) for admission to MBA, MCA and ME/MTech/MArch/MPlan degree programmes offered in colleges in Tamil Nadu.

Some universities and self-financing engineering colleges may also opt to admit the candidates on the basis of marks obtained in TANCET 2012

The application form is common for all the three entrance tests. Candidates have to submit only one application form.

The candidates have to pay a fee of Rs.500 (Rs.250 for SC/SCA/ST candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu on production of a copy of Permanent Community Certificate in card format) as entrance test fee for any one of the programmes either (1) MBA or (2) MCA or (3) ME/MTech/MArch/MPlan.

If a candidate desires to appear for more than one programme, for every additional programme, he/she has to pay Rs.500 (Rs.250 for SC/SCA/ST candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu).

Commencement of registration/registration through Internet  - February 1, 2012
Last date for registration at co-ordinating centres and registration through Internet -  February 23, 2012
Last date for registration at Chennai Centre and receipt of completed application
(registered through Internet) February 25, 2012
Exam dates:
MBA - March 31, 2012 (Saturday) - 10.00 a.m. to 12.00 noon
MCA - March 31, 2012 (Saturday) - 02.30 p.m. to 04.30 p.m.
ME/MTech/MArch/MPlan - April 1, 2012 (Sunday) - 10.00 a.m. to 12.00 noon
