Let 1/2cos inverse a/b = t

tan(pie/4+1/2cos inverse a/b)+tan(pie/4-1/2cosinverse a/b)

= tan (pie/4 + t) + tan (pie/4-t)

= tan pie/4 (1+ tan^2 t)/ (1- tan^2 t)

= (1+ tan^2 t)/ (1- tan^2 t)

= sec 2t

= sec 2 (1/2cos inverse a/b )

= 2b/a
