MCA at Anna University: Admissions to MCA programme at Anna University are conducted through TANCET (TAMIL NADU COMMON ENTRANCE TEST) and required Eligibility is:
A pass in any Degree with 10+2+3/4 years pattern with Mathematics* at +2 level or with Mathematics/Statistics** as one of the subjects at the degree level. A pass in any degree with 10 +3 (Diploma) +3 years pattern with Mathematics at Diploma level or Mathematics/ Statistics** as one of the subjects at the degree level. * Mathematics or Business Mathematics. ** Business Mathematics, Business Statistics, Algorithm and Numerical Methods, Numerical and Statistical Methods, Probability and Statistics, Probability Mathematics, Numerical Methods, Algebra and Probability Mathematics, Quantitative Techniques, Computer Oriented Numerical Methods, Engineering Mathematics, Mathematics for Management, Operations Research, Discrete Mathematics, Computational Methods, Bio-Statistics, Allied Mathematics, Allied Basic Mathematics, Algebra-Analytical Geometry of three dimensions and Trigonometry, Business Statistics and Operation Research, Quantitative Methods of Business
Candidates who have already passed and are appearing for the final semester/ year examination during the same session with the said eligibility may apply for TANCET for admission to M.C.A. degree programme. TANCET Exam Pattern: M.C.A. Entrance Test: Exam Pattern:
The Question Paper is designed to test the capability of the candidates in the following areas: i) Quantitative Ability (ii) Analytical reasoning iii) Logical reasoning (iv) Computer awareness
There may also be a few questions on verbal activity, basic Science etc. The Question Paper will have 100 objective type questions and the candidates have to answer all the questions in 2 hours. Each question will have four alternative answers. The evaluation pattern is that 1 mark will be awarded for each correct answer and 1/4 mark will be deducted for every wrong answer. No deduction will be made for questions left unanswered. Negative marking is there for opting multiple answers for the same question.
