MCA Admission Admission to the MCA programme is based on the written test of 100 marks conducted by the University.
Syllabus of Exam The written test consists of objective type questions in two parts. Part ‘A' deals with general mental ability (consisting of items on reasoning, analysis, comprehension and synthesis). Part ‘B' deals with mathematical topics such as Sets, Relations, Integration, Differentiation, Analytical Geometry, Trigonometry, Vectors, Matrices, Determinants, Differential Equations, Elementary Probability and Statistics, Number Systems, Data Representation, Algorithms and Flowcharts.
Criteria for Admission in case of ties The following criteria shall be followed, one after the other, to resolve the ties,where candidates secure the same marks in the written test (a) First criterion: Marks obtained in Part - A of the question paper. (b) Second criterion: Division and marks obtained by the candidates in the qualifying degree examination. If the final result is not available then the marks up to the 2nd year will be taken into account. (c) Third criterion: Division and marks obtained in the degree examination immediately preceding the qualifying degree examination. (d) Fourth criterion: Division and Marks obtained in the next lower public examination.
International Students Admission of foreign nationals: Foreign nationals will be admitted over and above the approved intake in the same course up to a maximum of 15% of the sanctioned seats in the course, depending upon the availability of adequate infrastructure. Foreign nationals seeking admission through ICCR or other governmental agencies will apply to the University in the prescribed form through the respective bodies. However, self?supporting foreign nationals may apply directly to the University for admission in the prescribed form. The University may consider admission of foreign nationals ‘in absentia', on the basis of theirdesire "to be considered in absentia" if they possess a valid foreign passport at the time of applying to the University, irrespective of from where they have passed the qualifying examination, subject to the condition that they are found suitable for admission by the Admission Committeeof the concerned School / Department / Centre.
Non-Resident Indians (NRIs): Non-Resident Indians will also be considered for admission in different courses and all the admission rules on foreign nationals will also be applicable to the NRIs. The NRIs may apply directly to the University for admission in the prescribed form. They may be considered for admission, provided they possess a valid foreign passport at the time of applying to the University, irrespective of from where they have passed the qualifying examination, and are found suitable for admissionby the Admission Committee of the concerned School / Department / Centre. Students who takeadmission under this category shall pay the tuition and other fees as payable byforeign nationals.
